my wife took her '13 charger into the local dealer for an oilchange. got home no problems, drove it all the next day with no problems. on her way to work she gets a CEL and calls me. she continues to drive it and it quits a couple miles later. I go look at it and the front of the engine is covered in oil. I checked the dipstick and it had NO OIL on it!
The dealer came out with a new filter and more oil. when they pulled the filter housing cap there WAS NO ORING on it! they filled it back up and r2'd the filter again and INSTALLED an oring. they drove it back to the dealer to check it out and clear the codes. while it was there the detailed it, cleaned up their oil mess under the hood, and filled it up w/gas. it had a pretty nasty tap to it on the first startup but it quieted down almost instantly.
my concern is, did the loss of oil harm it? the codes were the 2 stage oil pump code(don't remember all of the actual #, I think it was P06d*) and vvt code 340? did it go into limp to protect itself? do I have a ticking time bomb that is waiting to grenade on me?
