I love the semi-flat black, but have you thought about trying something else?

I was thinking a semi-flat darker tone of daytona blue if that's even possible with gloss black wheels!

Sounds like yall know more about this than me so I have a question!

I understand that care for a flat or semi paint job is an entirely different monkey. That you can not use typical wax. Can yall share your thoughts on that!

I've thought a lot about leaving my base, but having her sanded and a nice semi or "eggshell" clear sprayed on. I've seen one 2nd gen in a flat gray and it was SICK. But I don't want to make my cleaning regimen any harder than it already is....

Instead of painting them Matte colors, why not just get them vinyl Wrapped in matte colors? Isn't it cheaper and if it is done right, couldn't you change the colors as you change the seasons or when the mood strikes etc... I have seen a flat orange before as a wrap and that looked pretty tight... takes a while to do I imagine... but it is not as permanent as painting and you still have the original color beneath it.

personally I think it looks like crap...reminds me of the piles of junk we drove in HS that were covered in rustoleum primer....
As I recall you don't like black rims either. LOL

Best go chase those meddling kids off your lawn. Joke!!

To each their own. I dunno, I think wrap is overrated. What about the jams and under the hood... Plus, everything I've heard seems to indicate to "wrap" a car is stupid expensive. As much and sometimes more than paint. Andif the wrap didn't come from the same run, I hear it can be a near impossible to match. IE: you do get a scratch or tear, it's replace the whole panel if you are lucky. Major props to anyone with the stones to go that way. If I am going to get that extreme I am going traditional paint.

Those are super hot BTW Evan!!! Cool pics buddy.

yeah, I know I sound like an old man, but I'm only 37....

I wouldn't do paint, because

1) it's permanent

2) it's expensive....when I had my '86 5th ave painted in 2006, it was $4200 to do, and that was with me stripping out the interior and all exterior trim....that didn't include the engine compartment, but it did include the door and trunk jambs, and no rust repair

wrap is less permanent and probably half the cost, PD is even less permanent and about 1/4 to 1/5 the cost of paint, and allows you to go back to stock paint if you get tired of the look, or for resale purposes

but it still reminds me of my high school friend's rusty old '66 jeep J2000 that he fixed the rust, but couldn't afford a real paint job, so he covered it in about 10 cans of rustoleum dark grey automotive primer.

The first time I saw a matte finish paint job I thought wow that's cool.....second through fifth yeah it's still cool, now it's like meh...seen enough of them already don't really want to see more. Kinda got tired of them real quick so I hope they don't sweep the nation like wildfire.

The Mercedes dealer has a matte white SLK in their showroom that I see at work everyday and when I look at I think would I choose that one and each time the answers is no.

matte colors seem to me to be just a new name for the pastel colors of the 60's. I like a car with a shine. Pats right, it reminds me of a primered car too.
I'm not into black wheels either :)
Oh no, another one! do you chase the kids off your lawn too? LMAO! It's cool, everyone likes different things. What appeals to me about the flats or matte or eggshell or whatever they want to call it is that it reasonably rare right now. I have not seen a single flat car in the STL area. So here it would turn heads.

I like a little chrome on my wheels, but I also think there is a point where there is too much chrome. I think that line is in a different place for everyone.
